November 2024

I can report that we finally picked our Chardonnay on 13 November – a record for the latest harvest.

Things were very quiet on the winery when we finally took a small volume of chardonnay grapes down in the trailer. A subdued atmosphere indeed.

Well fortunately we held back two barrels of chardonnay wine from the 2023 harvest which we will now bend with the 2024. So, all in all, we will be able to make 2,000 bottles plus.  Not bad while others simply had nothing to show for 9 month’s work.

Finally, we have been granted organic and Demeter status on our land after 3 years of being in conversion.  The wine made from 2025 onwards will be Demeter certified.  Dave Morris who has guided us through the minefield of inspections and soil samples was delighted to have breasted the tape.
